Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account. Email address, sign-in method (email and password, Google, or Apple), and a Firebase user ID.
• Profile. Username, optional emoji, preferred language, and whether you opted into the public leaderboard.
• Gameplay. Quiz history, scores, streaks, unlock progress, and stats stored in Cloud Firestore.
• Notifications. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token on your user profile so we can send optional quiz reminders.
• Diagnostics and usage. Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Firebase Analytics (product interaction, using an app-scoped identifier, not used to track you across other companies’ apps). Remote Config may change features without identifying you.

Who processes it

Account, database, analytics, crash reports, messaging, and remote configuration are provided by Google Firebase. Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple are used only to authenticate you. Quiz content is loaded through our own backend after you sign in.

Why and how long

We use this data to run the quiz, show the leaderboard you opted into, remember preferences, and fix crashes. We keep profile and quiz data while your account exists. Crash and analytics data may be retained by Google according to their product settings and is not used to rebuild your account after deletion. Historical monthly winner snapshots may still mention a username; deleting an account does not rewrite those public history records.

Delete your account

In the app, open Profile, then Delete account, and confirm. If you signed in with Apple, the app asks Apple to confirm and revokes that token before the account is removed. Deletion removes your Firebase sign-in and the Firestore documents tied to your user ID (profile, leaderboard, quiz history, unlock progress, and stats).

If you cannot open the app, email support@mercatoapp.app from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will remove the same data. This page is the web deletion path required by Google Play.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including in the EU and UK, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your data, object to certain processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact support@mercatoapp.app.
